Bioactive Materials for Direct and Indirect Restorations: Concepts and Applications

نویسندگان

چکیده

Currently, minimally invasive restorations could be made in dentistry applying adhesive materials and adhesion principles to the dental structures. Following this philosophy, endodontic interventions have been avoided largely, preserving hard tissues, maintaining vitality. Advances biologically favorable bioactive enabled clinicans induce repair regeneration of tissues. Such are primarily used for pulp protection cementation indirect restorations. This review highlights current available, bioactivity their mechanisms action.

Cytotoxicity and Biocompatibility of Direct and Indirect Pulp Capping Materials

There are several studies about the cytotoxic effects of dental materials in contact with the pulp tissue, such as calcium hydroxide (CH), adhesive systems, resin composite and glass ionomer cements. The aim of this review article was to summarize and discuss the cytotoxicity and biocompatibility of materials used for protection of the dentin-pulp complex, some components of resin composites an...

Bond strength between luting materials and a fiber-reinforced resin composite for indirect restorations.

The purpose of the present study was to evaluate the bond strength between a fiber-reinforced composite (FRC) and six luting agents (Panavia F 2.0, Linkmax MC, Chemiace II, Multibond, Super-Bond C&B, and Fuji I). A prosthodontic resin composite material (RC-control) and a luting agent containing no functional monomer (MT) were used as controls. Shear bond strengths between alumina-blasted FRC a...

Long-term survival of direct and indirect restorations placed for the treatment of advanced tooth wear.

Advanced tooth wear was restored with direct resin-based composites (RBCs) in 17 patients, and with indirect ceramo-metal crowns (CMCs) and full gold crowns in 8 other patients. The mean patient age was 64.9 (8.6 SD) years, with each patient having a mean of 13.8 (5.4) restorations. In this retrospective case series study, the mean restoration age was 5.0 (3.0) years for the direct and 5.9 (2.6...
